Zyra, Viktor and Syndra should also be taken into consideration. The type of playstyle doesn't matter. I just want to
I am open to all suggestions!

Alright, due to the increased popularity of league of legends, we have been having an influx of new players. As such many of them come here with little to no knowledge of the game and end up annoying those more versed in it. The worse kinds are quite simply those who just pick a hero, do not practice it and end up in a game with season players.

So to help them out a bit, I thought of making a simple guide to just educate them about the hero's of LOL, and simple basics of using them.

Ahri
Standard Lane: Mid
Hero Type: Burst AP Assassin
Difficulty: Moderate
Notes: Ahri is an AP carry hero that falls into the category of 'Assassin'. This means she deals high powered insta burst damage to a (usually) single target to take it out (preferable caries). However unlike other assassins, Ahri is able to function as a perfectly capable standard AP nuker with the minor weakness of having a shorter range then most.
Build: This depends on your play style. For those going all in assassin, its recommended to get pure ap (deathcap, deathfire grasp, etc.). For those who feel that the team composition makes it risky, its preferred to go survivability. It would be better for their first item to be something like Rod of Ages (if enemy has balanced ap and ad heroes), Athene's Unholy Grail (if they have more ap or a more dangerous ap assassin) or Seeker's Armguard (ad heavy).
Basic Playstyle: To play Ahri you must know a simple rule. Ahri is one of a few heroes that even if you ROLFstomp your lane utterly, if your team is brain dead you will be unable to carry 80% of the time. It's a simple fact. Now to play Ahri in lane its simple, use your Q to harass. Avoid pushing the lane too much early on. Boots+3 is the best pick most of the time to start. Rush a doran or 2 by the time you hit level 6. Once level 6, push the lane hard, and run around and gank. This is what you must do, DO NOT sit and farm with Ahri, you have to gank to give your nitwit teammates as much help as they can. Towards mid and late game, your role in teamfights is to stay at the outer reaches. Yes I understand her ulti makes you trigger happy to go all in but its a mega risk. The best way to teamfight with her to skirt the outer edges. Use your q and w to harass. Only go in if you can see an opening to burst their ad carry. A simple way to use her ulti is to go in, go out and save the 3rd charge for as long as you can.

Akali
Standard Lane: Top/Mid
Hero Type: Burst AP Assassin + Pubstomper
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Similarly to Ahri above, Akali is an AP carry hero that falls into the category of 'Assassin'. This means she deals high powered insta burst damage to a single target to take it out (preferably caries). Akali usually has one of the best laning phases as her nasty pokes from her q with its high ratios can effectively null most ap carries at mid. Her spell vamp is also one of the best in the game making it hard to effectively trade with her or harass. however unlike Ahri, she has no real escape mechanism and deals almost exclusively single target damage.
Build: Pure high octane ap. You wont need mana regen on this hero however getting some health (rylais) at some point is recommended. Hybrid items like gunblade are also fine on her.
Playstyle: For mid lane relax, farm and use your q to harass the squishy ap in your lane. However with the new meta of ad mid, Akali becomes trickier to use as most of the ad mids can match her burst for burst and are more tankkier then their ap counterparts. Your goal is to bumrush Gunblade or Deathcap asap. At top things get weird. You have to see what kind of lane you get before trying anything funny. Some heroes just want to farm (nasus, irelia) and are to be treated like their mid counterparts. Others are more then happy to bully you (Riven, Jax). It's these lanes you need to watch out for. Focus on farming with Q and don't bother harassing them much.

Alistar
Standard Lane: Bot/Jungle
Hero Type: Tank
Difficulty: Easy-Moderate
Notes: Alistar is quite simply a Crowd Control meat shield. His entire role for your team is to tank and use his spells to help. He is preferable as a support at bottom. His headbutt and pulverize can be used defensively to save your ad carry form death or offensively to knockup enemies for your team to reach them or send a single target back to your team to kill. Please DO NOT go ap on him as it is not longer really viable. As a jungler, alistar clears very, very slowly. His main role is simple to run into lane early and gank. A good alistar can make enemy teams afraid to go halfway past their lanes.
Build: Tank, Tank Tank and Tank some more. Aegis is a must on him and for supports Shurelia is also necessary. If you have excess gold to spend, abyssal is a decent item on him as well.
Playstyle: When it comes down to it, master his headbutt, and you can master this hero. Build tank on him, choosing to go Shurelia over Aegis is a decent decision for this hero.

Amumu
Standard Lane: Jungle
Hero Type: Tank
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: One of the big 3 standard bans at ranked low elo, amumu rips apart weaker teams and is a very solid pick even in high elo. His best role is as a jungler which is where he can influence the game the most. The arrival of spirit stone has further increased his jungle sustain. His natural tank stats make him a beast in late game who is nigh unkillable 1v1.
Build: Focus on a balance of tankiness and minor ap for this hero. The standard elo play now is to rush iron scolari after spirit stone. Focus on tank items like sunfire cape, randuiens, and aegis. Get some ap towards the end to keep your damage up with items like abyssal.
Playstyle: Gank as soon as you can. A skilled amumu can pull off at least 2 ganks before returning to base after his first jungle run. You need to mix a balance of farm and ganking if you wish to play this hero. However his late game teamfight power is insane. A single well timed bandage toss into ulti is a gamechanger.

Anivia
Standard Lane: Mid
Hero Type: AP Carry Nuker
Difficulty: Very Hard
Notes: Anivia is one of those heroes where when used by a master can completely rip a team to shreds. She is a mid lane hero who prefers to stay and farm whole day. Her ap ratios make her a constant danger even with little ap on her and her spells CC potential is a gamechanger. A teamfight against Anivia in the jungle is close to suicide. She require a LOT of training to use and master and is most certainly not for beginners.
Build: I recommend getting mana regen on her as much as you can. Rushing an early tears of the goddess and Athene's unholy grail may seem useless but you will thank me later. After that, grab a rod of ages for some tankkiness. Now is the part where you farm deathcap and start carrying your team. After this, you should look at the teamfight status. If you are being focus badly, get a warmogs. It may seem stupid, but Anivia has very low health and health per level. You are at risk all the time.
Playstyle: Stay in lane and farm for 35 minutes. Simple and easy. Not quite. Anivia has one of the slowest attack speeds and her missile takes a long time to reach her target. Last hit training with this hero is a must. You cant just press her ulti and farm. It burns too much mana and there is a chance your gold will be stolen by creeps. Have your team try to force fights in jungle which will allow you to wall the enemy and split them up.

Annie
Standard Lane: Mid
Hero Type: Ap Carry Nuker
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Annie is probably the basic version of Anivia. She is easy to farm and harass with due to her very high spell range. Her stun is not reliable and should be considered carefully before picking.
Build: Going an early rod of ages into deathcap is probably the best choice for this hero. The thing about annie is after you spend your spells you have nothing. You have to rely on your shields to wait for cooldown on your other spells. Going pure ap is the best possible choice for this hero.
Playstyle: Harass your lane with your superior range. Use your Q to last hit effectively. In teamfights your ONLY role is to prepare a stun, and launch it with Tibbers into the enemy team. You wont have much time to do more after that.

Ashe
Standard Lane: Bot
Hero Type: Range Ad Carry
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Ashe is the cheapest and easiest of the ad carries available to use for new players. Her kit is decent enough to make her quite a respectable pick even in high elo especially after most others have been nerfed to the ground.
Build: Start a Boot+3 into a doran blade is the best idea here. Get a zeal quick and then build an infinity edge ASAP. Do not deviate from this build unless you have played 300 games with Ashe or unless you are CLG Doublelift. Get a phantom dancer and last whisper next.
Playstyle: Ashe uses her early game range to farm freely with little problems. Use volley to harass but DO NOT SPAM IT! You will push the lane. Push the lane and you will get ganked. Then you will die. Her ulti is gamebreaking do NOT WASTE IT. It's used to setup perfect teamfights or catch someone out of position.

Blitzcrank
Standard Lane:Bot
Hero Type: Support/Tank
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Another of the main bans in lower elo, Robocop is a pain in the ass to deal with. His power to reposition a fight is near unmatchable in the game. His specialist role is at the bot lane preferably with a matching ad (vayne, graves).
Build: Standard support build with an aegis asap. However if you have the gold, consider getting the super speed boots instead of the aegis basic item.
Playstyle: If your ad matches you in that he is a strong early game, began dueling asap. Preferable when you are level 2 as you will have a knock up as well. Keep trying to hook the enemy ad. Don't worry about fighting as your passive makes you tankkier then most expect. At late game, the rule remains the same. Hook someone out of position for your team to rip him apart (preferably their carries). However be warned of your targets. I have seen many a genius blitz hook an enemy amumu or renekton into their teams for a free loss.

Brand
Standard Lane: Mid
Hero Type: AP Carry Nuker
Difficulty: Moderate
Notes: Brand is an ap carry that focuses on chaining his spells for different effects based on the situation. To play Brand you have to know what spells to use, what items to buy and what is your limit. Brand shines in the mid game due to his weaker late game ap ratios. As such if you pick this hero, prepare to push hard in the mid game and do not delay.
Build: Boots+3 into a doran ring is the ideal starting item. Your next item should be hextech revolver. Many might question me so listen. The mid game is heavy with dueling so you need to be able to survive. For its cost, its a good item on him. Now is the moment of truth. Farm a Deathcap at all costs before the 35 minute mark. Your next item should be rylai at this point. That's it. This is the highest and best damage you can do while being of use to the team. After this, your ap ratios drop too sharply to be of any more use.
Playstyle:Use w + e to farm. Minion waves. Watch your mana early on so you dont end up with nothing for a gank. For duels, use e + q + w in that order for maximum effect. This is your only way to stop an assassin, if you miss your q you are dead.

Caitlyn
Standard Lane: Bot
Hero Type: Range AD Carry
Difficulty: Easy
Notes: Caitlyn is similar to Ashe in that she is a long range ad carry. She has the longest base range in the entire game and take advantage of it to harass and bully other ad caries such as graves and vayne. As a result, her base attack speed is slightly slower then you would expect.
Build: An early bloodthirster would be wise followed by either a statik shiv or phantom dancer. Cait's advantage is that you wont need health much on her due to her unnatural range. Consider a guardians angel in the late game. Focus on hard damage over attack speed as due to her range, in late game it will be hard for her to reach the enemy carries.
Playstyle: Use your passive and Q to harass early and hard. However be vary, Cait pushes a lane very easily which can backfire. In late game, use your superior range to kite enemy players hard. Due to your range in late game, you might not be able to reach the enemy carries and might be forced to fight initiators like Xin or Irelia. Hard damage and armour penetration are your best bet.

Cassiopeia
Standard Lane: Mid
Hero Type: AP Carry Nuker (Spammer Type)
Difficulty: Moderate-Hard
Notes: Cassie is one of a special type of ap carries in that she does not nuke an entire team or burst a single target. With low cooldowns and moderate ap ratios, she is a spammer type. She constantly harasses enemies before a teamfight even starts. Her ultimate is a superb gamechanger. Although she may not seem to have much damage, she can actually deal huge amounts if left unchecked
Build: Unlike most ap carries, damage is not your concern. Cassie deals a lot of damage with little ap so it is better to go with survivability. I recommend you farm EITHER Athene's or Tears ASAP. As such, come to lane with 1-2 fairy charms depending on which one you choose. After that, rush either a rod of ages or a rylais. Consider Morrellonomicon on her as it gives mana regen, cooldown reduction and ap.
Playstyle: In early game use your q + e combo to harass hard but avoid using it on the creeps as you will push the lane. Cassie has a similar problem to Anivia in that her missile speed is slower and deals less damage then you want. Again, last hit training is a must on this hero. During teamfights Cassie excels as a counter initiator. She can instantly freeze a whole team with a well timed ulti and them follow up with her spamming q+e combo. If being chased, master the art of Q running. Use your q to hit a target while running so that you will gain bonus movement speed from your passive.

Cho'Gath
Standard Lane: Mid/Top/Jungler
Hero Type: AP Tank
Difficulty: Moderate-Hard
Notes: Godzilla's baby bro has found new life in recent times after a long period in which he was being bullied hard at top by stronger bruisers. Cho is a tankky hero that has moderate ap ratios and 2 hard CC spells. The main problem with him is that he can carry your team hard but only if he is farmed up. The problem is getting to that farm...Cho is a decent jungler with ok clear time, sustain and hard cc gank if he lands his stun. He is also a very strong mid laner as most ap carries cant burst him down.
Build: Cho can go almost anything but is standard to rush a rod of ages into pure tank items. A haunting guise and abyssal would also be not a bad idea at some point (preferably his 4th or 5th item).
Playstyle: Start Flask + ward + potion for Top and Mid lanes. Choose Vorpal Spikes for your 1st spell and farm, farm, farm. You must do everything in your power to return back to base and buy a catalyst before level 6. A cho behind in farm is a useless cho. One technique especially if your jungler is gank happy, is to push your lane, run in your jungle and use your level 6 to clear large creeps. Do not bother going ap cho as you will be worthless. Rylai is another useless item on him. Make sure you get your 6 stacks asap whenever possible so that you can start saving ulti's for teamfights. When a teamfight starts, use your large size to block people from going around to the ad carry. Stand on 'top' of your carry if possible so they will be hard pressed to target your teammate. For a jungle Cho, the introduction of spirit stone is a godsend for him. Upgrade it into either Spectral wraith OR Golem depending on situation then follow the standard build WITHOUT rod of ages.

Corki
Standard Lane: Bot
Hero Type: Range AD Carry
Difficulty: Easy-Moderate
Notes:

Darius
